Tammy Laakso
Tammy Laakso, the Founder and President of Welcome to Hope Foundation, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma. With a rich history of community involvement, Tammy has served as Vice Chair for Owasso Community Resources, the City of Owasso Planning Commission, and the City of Owasso Board of Adjustment. Throughout her adult life, she has dedicated her time to various roles in church, including women’s ministry leadership, co-leading and speaking at women’s weekend retreats, leading ladies' Bible studies, and mentoring youth. Recognizing the pressing need for support among youth aging out of the foster system, Tammy founded Welcome to Hope Foundation to address the limited opportunities available to them. The foundation aims to provide a stable and secure home for these young individuals, offering educational opportunities and fostering their growth into self-sustaining adults. The program focuses on life skills development and healing from past traumas, enabling them to transition into a healthier adulthood.
